JEFX 06 is the sixth in a series of large-scale CSAF-directed experiments. It will evaluate new operational concepts, processes, and technologies to fill operational deficiencies identified in the Integrated Capability Review and Risk Assessment process and ongoing current operations.
Planning for JEFX 06 is currently underway. 8AF will again be the Numbered Air Force representing the warfighter. MAINEX will be 17 April to 5 May 2006
> Robust live-fly, joint and coalition participation will be an integral part of the experiment
> Approximately 6 major initiatives will support the Network Centric Operations theme
> Plan and execute the Air Task Order and Airspace Control Order via the Theater Battle Operations Net-centric Environment (TBONE)
> Create interface for Web-Enabled Execution Management Capability (WEEMC) to work Data Link Automated Reporting System's (DLARS) information service within TBONE
> Explore support for Homeland Security communications and surveillance capabilities
> Explore tactical use of Internet Protocol airbourne networking
> Explore Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance integration of current visualization and fusion
> Combine Air and Operations Center-Nellis (CAOC-N) will be the primary locations. Linkage to a Falconer will be demonstrated. Live-fly operations will take place on the Nevada Test and Training Ranges (NTTR), to include Spiral 3 (27 Feb - 10 Mar) and MAINEX, and will employ only datalink-equipped aircraft
